About Compatibility
Because of Windows Vista growing popularity and because of rumors around the new OS and StarForce compatibility, StarForce is publishing a detailed explanation.
StarForce announced full 64bit OS support back in June 2005 and then one year later we announced a new version of FrontLine with improved compatibility.
StarForce started 2007 with announcement of full compatibility with Windows Vista when StarForce FrontLine passed “Certified For Windows Vista” tests.
What does that mean?
That means no updates are required for the latest versions. StarForce FrontLine versions 4.00.013 and higher run under Windows Vista or 64bit OS automatically.
If you have a game with StarForce version below 3.04.062 you will need a special patch from the game’s publisher to run it under Vista.
If you have a game with SF FrontLine version below 3.05.000 you will need a special patch from the publisher to run it under 64bit OS. Versions later than 3.05 need StarForce driver update.
The same is true for StarForce FrontLine version 3.04.062. You can turn on support of Windows Vista by updating protection drivers from our web site.
All SF versions starting 4.x fully support Windows Vista 32/64 and run under the new OS automatically without updates.
However, StarForce Developers' Team recommends regular drivers update using StarForce Driver Update Utility.
