Cyanide and StarForce Announce Their Collaboration on Another Title

15.03.2005

StarForce Technologies, leading provider of copy protection and license management solutions, announced today that Cyanide Studios has licensed StarForce for its highly anticipated "Pro Rugby Manager 2" game.

Cyanide is a French videogames developer famous for the high quality of its titles, released Pro Rugby Manager 2 in England on February 25, the day before the crunch match between English and Ireland. This highly anticipated title is referenced as the most complex and accurate rugby simulation ever created. Pro Rugby Manager 2 was built upon a solid foundation of player research and analysis, ensuring each pass, kick, tackle and run is calculated with the utmost accuracy.

Since its foundation in 2000, Cyanide has released eight titles which have become very popular among gamers. "In Cyanide we respect the tremendous amount of time and labor invested in our titles and try to never release a PC title unprotected. We’ve used StarForce for all our games released since 2003, and choosing their software protection for Pro Rugby Manager 2 was just the next logical step", says Patrick Pligersdorffer from Cyanide. "It worked perfectly for the first installment of PRM in February 2004. An unprotected version of PRM could not be found in P2P networks until a few weeks ago when we released a budget version of PRM!  PRM 2 was around the corner, so we went on with the unprotected PRM budget version release. With StarForce, hackers are kept one year behind!"

Cyanide utilizes an assortment of  StarForce’s products to protect a game from Day One, the ProActive technology is used for online beta testing, and StarForce protected CD-Rs are used to protect promotional and versions sent out for review. This way no unprotected version can leak outside the company, which is the golden rule of any effective protection.

Pro Rugby Manager 2 was protected using StarForce’s Professional solution for CD/DVD-ROM discs, the software-based media protection technology used to prevent cracking and illegal copying.

Olivier Duran, Regional Manager with StarForce comments, "StarForce is pleased to again work with Cyanide, our loyal partner, who was one of the first to use our protection system in Europe".

Pro Rugby Manager 2 is available now to the public, distributed by Digital Jesters in the UK and by Focus in France.
