StarForce product has been deeply tested by the new “DRM watch dogs” – Reclaim Your Game

10.02.2010

StarForce's FrontLine ProActive has been analyzed in-depth by independent DRM Evaluators, Reclaim Your Game (RYG). There were two PC games with FrontLine ProActive implemented that were completely reviewed following the comprehensive testing scheme.

It was the protection version 5.70 that has been tested and reviewed. Two games came to RYG’s testers as they appeared in stores without any changes. The final test report has been divided into 8 items. Each of them describes certain protection features that may affect consumer’s PC or cause a negative experience while game is launching and played.

Lisa Arnold, General Manager of Reclaim Your Game comment: “After much testing, analysis and discussion, RYG has concluded that FrontLine ProActive is by far a significantly attractive DRM Scheme, especially with respect to what StarForce had used back in 2006. Six out of the eight characteristics and qualities RYG tested on FrontLine ProActive using Project RYG were deemed to be End-User Friendly. Not only that, but having to work with someone within StarForce who was equally passionate and dedicated in trying to develop an end-user friendly product is a testament to FrontLine ProActive itself.”

Here are the testing summary reports:

“Commander” game test results:

“Home, Sweet Home” game test results:

Detailed report can be found on the RYG’s web-site here.

Dmitry Guseff, VP of Marketing for StarForce, says: "We are very delighted with the testing results. However, we have some space to evolve and I can assure everyone that we definitely will evolve. The most toughest things are behind - StarForce has changed and now, I believe, moves in the right direction. We managed to rebuild our DRM to become more convenient, safe and, most importantly, transparent, which was pretty hard as we have managed to keep the protection-performance on a very high level."
