StarForce Survey Results
How do you feel about protection of copyright in the IT industry?
We have just closed a very interesting poll on our website.
Visitors had four questions to answer regarding their attitude towards copyright protection in the IT area.
Most visitors (76.25) believe that copyright needs no protection whatsoever.
The second opinion was left far behind – 15.7% voted that authors should receive decent payment for their work.
The third answer leaves programmers even less optimistic. Only 6% believe that authors should find another job and write software during their free time.
Radical pro-copyright voters are in minority. As of today only 5.7% think that there should be no free software at all.
Altogether 6850 participated in our poll.
Even though most visitors of StarForce website think that developers should fully rely on the end-users’ honesty, we have a slight positive tendency towards the times when copyright will be respected. We must continue educating users about online distribution of software and multimedia products.
The problem remains – people download things and it doesn’t even occur to the most that they are using pirated software.
We can only hope that some day copy protection will become unnecessary because piracy will cease.
