Kaspersky Antivirus for the Chinese market will contain dedicated tools against software piracy.
 
Kaspersky Labs, a leading information security software developer and StarForce, a leader on the Russian copyright protection systems market, announce their collaboration. In accordance with an agreement, the two companies will start working on the creation of a software protection system to prevent illegal distribution of the popular Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal software. This software protection system will not be used in any country apart from China. The project stipulates that this system will be developed on the basis of an activation mechanism, the StarForce ProActive system.

The StarForce ProActive system protects software solutions against unsanctioned access and includes tools which control software distribution and use.  The flexibility of the StarForce Proactive licensing system makes it a very valuable tool that is cost effective for clients, offering consumers a definite advantage.  The technological features of the system allow  software providers to distribute protected software on optical media as well as via the Internet.

The joint project between Kaspersky Labs and StarForce will aid in creating serious barriers to withstand Chinese software piracy. The effectiveness of the measures taken will draw the attention of developers to the local market specifics.
